Sollamale Yaar Paarthathu from Poove Unnakaaga

The internet connection has been unstable, the past week, and attempts to leave a line here were futile. Thank God the situation has taken a turn for good today. And, here I am.

The week has been fairly interesting. Musically, it was a whole lot of IR's and KJY's. You know... those romantic numbers back from the 80's. I cannot pinpoint one single song, but there were many. The ones that switch on the lights of your heart, at the very moment you listen to them.

Sollamale Yaar Paarthathu is what I am listening to right now. It's kind of sappy. Sickly sweet. You have got to feel the song. Grab the moment. Tamil is extremely beautiful. It explains feelings and reveals agitations of the heart in depth.

Nilladi Endrathy Ullmanathu from Kalamellam Kaathirupen

I am bewildered by the sentiments that a beautiful Tamil love song can put in your heart. Really. I am not blowing this out of proportion, but good Tamil songs DO actually put you up on a pedestal. Like this one.

Again, listened to this by chance, on my local radio. So apt, it was at the moment, that even the heavy rain and the massive jam did not dampen my spirits. This song brought me up the my heart's Himalayas despite the awful situation I was stuck in.

Tried looking for the YouTube version. And failed. This is the duet version. The one I heard was the female one. Both are equally awesome.

No video to accompany, but this site comes with Bharathiyar's logo. Long live Tamil.
p/s - I so miss India. I so, so miss Chennai.

Irava Pagala from Poovellam Ketupaar

This song was a favourite of mine back then. And today, while in the car, amidst the heavy downpour, I listened to it, by chance.

The lyrics are simple. And, the song carries its own energy. A very comforting song when your heart is thrown off balance.

Maadhulamkaniye from Saami Potta Mudichi.

Today was a blast. I am staggered and plain stunned. Surprised to levels that I would never be able to explain, even in complex, elaborate words. But, nevertheless, happy. Very happy. The soul feels light and spirited. It is such an out-of-the-world feeling. I feel like everything around me is illuminating.

This is what I have been hearing since late evening. This came in the early 1990's. Illayaraja for Saami Potta Mudichi. What a beautiful number. It is raining, right here, right now, and with this song in the background, everything feels like a beautiful dream. Only that what all transpired today was not a dream, but factual. It is a continuation of Nov 4th 2011.

Cheers. Have a bright day !!

p/s - cannot find the YouTube version for this song. This is all I could get hold of.

Uyiril Yetho from Venila Kabadi Kulu

This is one brilliant Tamil movie that, as usual, did not appeal, to the mass. I watched it back then, a few weeks into its release, and again, yesterday, during Deepavali. The first half of the movie has beautiful love scenes. The ones where only eyes speak and hearts go a flutter. Art direction was equally wonderful.

I love the soft melody of the song. And, the awesome lyrics. Listen. You will get what I mean.

I believe that God is listening to each and every prayers of ours. One of mine, just materialized on 4th November, and I cannot help but be grateful to Him. Very, very grateful. And, not to mention, the amount of happiness and prosperity He bestowed on me on Deepavali day, too. Thank you God, for everything.

Happy Deepavali everyone !!! May the Light shine upon each and every one of us. God bless.
