Sondham Eppodhum Thodarkathaithaan from Praptham

"சொந்தம் எப்போதும் தொடர்கதைதான் முடிவே இல்லாதது
எங்கே சென்றாலும் தேடி இணைக்கும் இனிய கதை இது
என்னை உன்னோடு சேர்த்த தெய்வம் எழுதும் புதுக்கதை இது....."

Anbu Mugam from Rusi Kanda Poonai

One hectic weekend - in spite of being a three day one. Blame it on the season to be merry. Saturday was spent all out and about. So, was yesterday. Today - first half of the day. Frantic, but fun.
Only 5 days, to go before the year bids goodbye and welcomes a brand new one. How fast.....
Managed to list down,

My Pick of Ten Songs for 2011.
10. Why This Kolaveri Di from 3 – Dhanush, Lyrics : Dhanush, Music : Anirudh - The song that has taken the world by storm. Something about Dhanush's voice's playfulness, blows my mind. Guys with a great sense of humour always win.
9. Sara Sara Kaathu from Vaagai Sooda Vaa – Chinmayi. Music: M Ghibran - A simple tune that easily hooks you. The antediluvian feel, love song.
8. Oru Naal Vidumurai from Doo – Haricharan & Prashanthini, Lyrics : G.Kumar, Music : Abishek-Lawrence - Sentimental reasons, for the first two lines. Something that was on my Ipod 24-7 some time back.
7. Kathal Adaimazhai Kaalam from Aanmai Thavarael – Music : Mariya Manogar - Simply love, as in L-O-V-E, the video clip of the song. As sweet as sentiments, right ?
6. Sota Sota Ninaiyavaithaai from Engeyum Eppothum - Chinmayi & Sathya.C, Lyrics : Na. Muthkumar, Music : Sathya.C - From one of the best movies of year. Beautifully amusing lyrics that you could relate to.
5. Mazhai Varum from Veppam – Suzanne, Lyrics : Na. Muthkumar , Music : Joshua Sridhar - Rain song. Not soup song. Be it a drizzle, or a heavy pour - they hold so many sweet memories for me. Just like this beautiful number. And, Suzanne's husky voice.
4. Paathagathi Kannupattu from Kazhugu – Yuvan Shankar Raja, Lyrics : Snegan, Music : Yuvan Shankar Raja - A present favourite. Lyrics deserve a standing applause. Yuvan is a musical genius, just like dad. MUST LISTEN FOR THE YEAR !!!!
3. Vizhigalile Vizhigalile from Kullanari Kootam - Karthik & Chinmayi, Lyrics : Na. Muthkumar, Music : V Selvaganesh - This was my mobile ringtone for a long, long time. Something about this song makes me smile - broadly. Still does.
2. Maalai Mangum Neram from Rowthiram - Ranina Reddy, Lyrics : Thamarai, Music : Prakash Nikki - The song I was and still am crazy, crazy about. I was dumbfounded the very first time I listened to it. It STILL continues to startle me. Lyrics that remind me of no one, but him..... ..... .....
1. Ayyayo Nenju from Aadukalam - S. P. Balasubramanyam , S. P. B. Charan & Prashanthini Music : G.V.Prakash Kumar, Lyrics : Snehan - One of my ALLTIME favourite love songs. My staple song, I would say.....
Not too late to wish you all Merry Xmas, right ??? See ya around.....

Kaathalukku Paatatharukku from Sirayil Sila Raagangal

He makes me smile - without saying much. He makes my heart flutter - despite being far. It is such a majestic feeling.....
Went for a movie with family this late evening. Mission Impossible 4 - The Ghost Protocol. Fairly entertaining, just like the rest of the MI's. From Budapest to Moscow to Dubai to Mumbai and finally, Seattle - a lot of action and heart stopping moments. I enjoyed it, very much.
Planning to go out for breakfast.....
Heading to bed, now (with a silly smile - thanks to him).....
A duet ? Tonight ? He asks. How? He, there. Me, here. In our dreams, I guess..... It will be sweet, nevertheless. Sweet. Semma sweet - just like him.....
This song comes to mind.

Pennalla Pennalla from Uzhavan

I love to cook. I enjoy sewing. I take pleasure in gardening. That makes me a girly girl, right ? I mean, I would like to be accredited, as one. It is such an honour.
Wikipedia refers the term "girly girl" as a slang for a girl or woman who chooses to dress and behave in a traditionally feminine style, such as wearing dresses, blouses and skirts, and talks about relationships and other activities which are associated with the traditional gender role of a girl.
Have been glued to the TV since 3.20pm, watching Junior Masterchef Australia 1. God, these kids cook like professionals. Their aptness and flair speak beyond their age. My favourites being the winner, Isabella Bliss as well as the eliminated Pierre Khoury and Anthony Georgiou. They amaze me.
Today's pick is for femininity and womanhood.
p/s - I do not think I will be able to post until Friday. Forgive me, yet again, for the broken promise. I am supposed to write, every day of the month. I will, if some miracle occurs.
Till then, have a blast !!!
Take care, God Bless and Be Merry !!!

Kadhalin Deepam Ondru from Thambiku Entha Ooru

Apologies! Jammer! Pardon! Undskyld! Entschuldigung! Bocsánat! Ignosce mihi! Sorry ! Kindly accept them, from the depth of my heart.
No post on Friday. I know - I made a strong pact. To write a line or two - for all the 31 days of December. Friday was such a busy one. Important agendas took priority. In fact, I headed to bed, real early - exhausted and weary.
This, itself, is a brief attempt. A quickie. Chosen and inspired by the lines below.....

and,

A Christmas luncheon has been planned this Thursday. The highlight would be the Gift Exchange Game. I bought mine this afternoon, while shopping. This is the season to be merry. So, go enjoy !!!!

Oh Unnale Naan from Ennaruginil Nee Irundhaal

Alas - Thursday is here. Next, comes my favourite day of the week. Friday flies me high. I guess I have kept my word. A post, a day. Not bad. Efforts do pay off, don't they ?
This excellent song comes from Maestro Illayaraja. He is brilliant and full of flair. His songs have the ability to serenade any mood.
The days are busy, no doubt. But his thoughts, constantly fiddle and fidget, my heart and soul. Sweet - he is to me. My Los Angeles Fosselman's perfect milk shake.
My Antibes, France, Restaurant de Bacon's authentic strawberry tart. My Mexico City, El Pastorcito's crunchy tacos. My Delhi, Sagar Ratna's wholesome Indian vegetarian cuisine. My Noto, Sicily, Corrado Costanzo's mouth watering ice cream. My Pierre Herme, Paris' excellent chocolate cake.
I bet you are wondering if I have ACTUALLY eaten any of the stuff mentioned above. No, I haven't. Illustrations - purely and solely. They are among, "The 50 best things to eat in the world, and where to eat them" from theguardian.com.
Life is pictorialization, isn't it ??????
Take care & God bless !!!

Vaanam Ulla Kaalam Mattum from Puthiya Swarangal

10 things about Scorpios - Yes! I am a proud one!

  • Scorpios are very observant. They can see through things very easily, which means if you are being dishonest with a Scorpio, they intuitively sense your deceit and wouldn't think you worthy of their trust, which means no friendship.
  • Scorpios like to hear about other people rather than tell you about themselves. Tell a Scorpio something about yourself and they will most likely remember it. But try not to tell them everything all at once, because then the Scorpio won't have anything to be intrigued about you because they like to slowly gather information and once they have it all, its less interesting.
  • Scorpios are all about mystery and finding things out. They are the most curious people you will find, whether they show it or not. There has to be something that they are interested in, like music, places they want to visit. Try to find out what they like the most, and do research on it. Make sure not to ask them questions that are too personal, but when you find out what they like, talk about it. Don't seem like a know-it-all.
  • Scorpios that are the most quiet, are the ones who see it all. They've seen you when you didn't notice, and they detect if you are good enough for them, just by seeing.
  • Scorpios value anyone who isn't afraid of being themselves. And tell them your interests and be honest when they ask you questions -they most likely won't be anything personal.
  • When a Scorpio gives you the piercing stare, you know you have gotten their attention.
  • Most Scorpios like the colors black and red. They're dark and mysterious, just like them.
  • When you have things in common with a Scorpio, they will remember you more, so try to talk about things that you have in common.
  • Scorpios are really good friends. Be loyal, treat them with respect, selflessness, intriguing, and they will appreciate you.
  • What does the Scorpio really want deep inside? They want to love and trust somebody. They hate dishonest people and "fake" people. Compliment them, but never overdo it. Make them feel wanted, even if they are quiet. Show them that you care about them. Be selfless and they will repay it by treating you the same way. If you want to win their heart, you have to be honest at all times. Don't play with their emotions. Scorpios are the most loyal people you will ever meet if they feel you are worthy of their loyalty and love.

Sokkanuku Vacha Sundariyo from Kaaval Geetham

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Today is not star rated - but "heart" rated. Thanks to him, I get to celebrate my Valentine's Day in mid December.
I love this song. For so many reasons. It gives me the feeling of walking on air. It weaves through my ears and strikes my heart. Towering lyrics. Overwhelming music. Stunning rendition. It reminds me of him. Only him.
This stirring number has been playing on replay mode, since late evening. The waning moon, visible from my bed and the Tamil month of Kaarthigai's sweet breeze, enchants my already sentimental emotions. Also, heavily present in my brain, are love chemicals - dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin and vasopressi. And, thus, I am requoting Barca - "When love is not madness, it is not love...."

Manthiram Sonnen Vanthuvidu from Vedham Puthithu

"மந்திரம் சொன்னேன் வந்துவிடு
சம்மதம் எங்கே தந்துவிடு
புதிய பாடம் சொல்வேனே - அதன்
பொருளைச் சொல்வாய் செந்தேனே
பாதம் பார்த்து வேதம் சொல்ல
ஆற்றங்கரைக்கு வந்தேனே....."
Monday. The song I have been steadily humming - since the break of day. A smooth, sweet sounding piece by Mano and S. Janaki-Ma.
Music - of pitch, melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, meter, articulation, dynamics, timbre and texture - is a great form of relaxation. Any form or language. For me, Tamil ones, rule.
Looking forward to a fascinating first day of the week.
Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.
 ~Jacques Prévert~
Stay happy. Okay ??

Potti Vecha Malligamottu from Man Vaasanai

I think in terms of the day's resolutions, not the year's. ~Henry Moore~
Ya. I want to do the same. At least, when it concerns, blogging. Think in terms of the day's resolutions. I pledge to post one, for the next 20 days, come rain or shine. It may be present time posts. Or even, scheduled ones. But, they will pop up, when they should. Daily - without fail. I am, after all, a Scorpio - and, we are intense about almost everything.
"Osthi" was a fair entertainer. Fast moving, comical, matched here and there, with a little bit of everything. A mediocre way to spend your weekend.
"பொத்திவச்ச மல்லிக மொட்டு
பூத்திருச்சு வெக்கத்தவிட்டு
பேசி பேசி ராசியானதே
மாமன் பேர சொல்லி சொல்லி ஆளானதே
ரெம்ப நாளனதே....."
பேசி பேசி ராசியானதே..... So timely. He and I, for no rhyme or reason, rhyme.

Unnale Unnale from Osthi

As sweet - as Saturday, for me. The first sound I hear, around 6.55am, is his. Mellifluous. The day cannot go wrong, after this. It will not. Optimism, is the word.
My day started early. Watering the plants, taking my bath, saying my prayers, having breakfast, doing laundry etc etc etc. We are going out in the evening. To catch "Osthi" at the theaters.
For starters, I am not a fan of Simbu. But, I think he did a great job in Vinaithandi Varuvaya and Vaanam. Read the reviews. A commercial flick. A moderately good commercial flick - hopefully.
Watched "Poraali" last night. A good one. The M. Sasikumar & P. Samuthrakani duo always attempt nonstandard themes. This is, one from that genre, too. A fast moving and equally entertaining one. Sasikumar is skillful with words. He makes you ponder over Liliputian issues. I adored (as in L-O-V-E-D) the scene when, he confesses his love to the heroine, Subramaniapuram fame, Swathi. It was superbly done - unlike no other Tamil movie. His dialogues were blunt and guileless. Swathi's ecstatic expression, deserves a mention, too.
For the owner of that mellifluous voice.

Oh Thendrale from Endrendum Kathal

I wish I had more time - on hand - to blog. I love to write, to scrawl and to scribble. It keeps me engaged. I guess I have only penned one this month, and today is already the tenth. A little slow, compared to the other months. But, I promise to catch up. This is, after all, year end. There are so many things that I must put in writing.
My second week of December unraveled beautifully. Friday, was a stellar. He has begun to open up. To divulge and to disclose - through sweet, magnetic phrases. So very refreshing.
Again - thank you Guglielmo Marconi - the father of the radio - for broadcasting this number. Ages since I listened to it.

Happy Weekend !!!

Paathagathi Kannupattu Panchu Panchaa from Kazhugu (2011)

For starters - I didn't know this movie existed. Discovered the song on Behindwood's Top Ten songs - at present time. This is all Yuvan - music and singing, with lyrics by Snegan. A slow moving but affirming number. A beautiful, rustic piece that grows on you - if you are willing to give it an audience.
My first post for December. The last month of the year. So fast. Seems like I just celebrated 2011's New Year. Now, 2012 is less than 30 days away.
New Year aspires resolutions. Me ? Yet to line - any. The only thing on my mind is - India. Yeah - India, the country where my soul resides. Keeping my fingers crossed for a vacation in late January or early February. India, is the remedy, to my qualms.
A somewhat Saturday. An early wake-up to water the potted plants. Gardening is new interest of mine. A relaxing art. A lunch date with mum and sister, and shopping, there after.
Churidhars suits charm me. And, punjabi suits, please me. Cotton ones - specifically. I have been getting lots of them. Today, bought a dark brown piece. Last week, got two. One purple. One green. Both cotton. They drain my budget - but make me happy. The latter is so much more important......
Not too late to wish you all a Happy Saturday !!! Do enjoy the weekend .....
