Alaipayuthey - The Album

This is numero uno in my list of favourite movies. I have watched this movie so many times and lost count of it. The irony, however, is that, it has yet to bore me. I can never say no to watching a re-run of Alaipayuthey. Maniratnam is a genius in the Indian film fraternity. That everyone knows. But the credit also goes to everyone who appeared in the movie, no matter how miniscule the part, for being so natural and full of ease. I cannot name one song that I like in this movie, as I like them all. So, here, I am embedding the entire OST.

Catchy but sort of melancholic number. Even the video clip was rather natural.

Nila Kaayum Neram from Chembaruthi

From the 90's era. I like this song due to the fact that it has some kind of lullaby effect. Melodious.

Vasanthamulai from Sarangadhara

This song was released way back then, in 1958. But it remains a tune that many Tamils hum and sing to, right until today. Beautiful, ever green melody by the great music director, G. Ramanathan.
