Puthu Paarvai from Yaaruda Mahesh

Note : Written on a beautiful, cloudy and drizzly Sunday morning but scheduled to be posted on a somewhat dreaded Monday.....

I barely slept last night. Blame it on the prolonged coughing, throughout dusk to dawn. And, despite that, I was wide awake at 7 am. Rolled on my bed for approximately half an hour with the song that I picked for my last post - Yaaro Ivan from Udhayam NH4 - on my player, in replay mode.
What-A-Song!!! GV Prakash, the singer and the music director of the song, says this is his most romantic piece - ever. I agree. Totally. It puts you in a nameless feeling. Na. Muthukumar, the lyricist, deserves a special mention, too. As, does, Saindhavi, the female singer.
The doctor has given me 5 kinds of tablets. For fever, cough, flu, an antibiotic and a painkiller. And, Amma, insists on her me taking the Vitamin C. Argh, God Bless me. Thankfully, the tablets are small and do not need to be cut into half. I have a phobia of getting choked. Google calls it, "Pnigerophobia". Hmm... Google, how so VERY helpful. Think of something, google it, and, tadaaaa.... you have the answer. At least, the nearest answer. Thanks Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Guess, you know how to find who they are, don't you ?
I have drunk plenty of water. But, the throat is still sore and prickly. Gulping on some chrysanthemum tea, to soothe it - right now. If this doesn't appease my oropharynx, then I will have to try a cup of warm water with lemon and honey. Home remedy.
You know, I am trying to finish "Eat, Pray, Love". The book. Trying. Still reading her adventures in the Indian Ashram. The pages that bring her to Bali - seem faraway. I am, way behind time. The book tags along with me. It is lies low and neat, in the gray Charles & Keith messenger bag that I carry everywhere. Sadly, I rarely give it the opportunity to pop out. Yes, I agree. I have become a reluctant reader (with a sad look).
I need something peppy. Something fresh and bright - and lively. This one, on my regular playlist, comes to mind. A rhythm, so pleasing.....
Come sing along. This video comes with lyrics.
Well, life is INDEED a song. Come, lets sing it.
Have a blessed week ahead. Take care.

Yaaro Ivan from Udhayam NH4

Hello everyone !!!
I gather a lot of song knowledge from SunMusic. It is, one of my favourite channels on TV. This song and today's post - is a salutation - to it.
Honestly, I have never heard of this movie. Its making or what so ever. Nil knowledge. But this afternoon... a short video clip of this song (this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDpubKA6r5U  - caught my huge attention - and as we would call it, the rest is history.....
A particular line stole my heart and knocked my senses....
"என் கோடையில் மழையானவன்
என் வாடையில் வெய்யிலானவன்
கண் ஜாடையில் என் தேவையை அறிவான் இவன்....."

Udhayam NH4 is written by the brilliant Vetrimaaran and has Siddarth playing the lead role.  Watched the trailer and looks pretty similar to Aanamai Thavarael. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Vetrimaaran pours his heart out in his movies. He does a lot of research and reading. So, lets hope for a stellar.
I was down with a bad sore throat and high fever on Friday. Much of it was spent recuperating - on the bed. Today the fever, has subsided. And, the sore throat is a milder. But,  I have flu, instead. I am being optimistic that all will be well by tomorrow evening. Monday is just around the corner, you see..... The dreaded manic Monday for us, wage earners.
Looking forward to an early day tomorrow. I love to get up to the rising sun, shining upon me. I delight over the warmth in envelopes me. And, yes, I want to settle my morning chores before Imman Annachi's "Solunga Anne Solunga in Kenya" starts.
Good nitezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Intha Vaan Veli from Aarohanam

Yes. I have become a lazy, flagging blogger. There was only one post for the first month of the year from yours truly. I am not going to beat around the bush and reason my absence. All I have to say is that I was plain lazy. And, my drive to write, was rather - hmmm, - diminutive.
It is going to be a long weekend. A four day one. I have a couple of invitations from family and close friends - in hand. Hopefully, I will be able to slot in some time for each of it. Hope is, after all, putting faith to work when doubting is easier.
The past two months at work were dreadfully hectic. I stood in for a colleague who went on a two month break. My actual department is full plate but plain sailing. There is work around the clock but there is an option to adjust the priorities. Unlike, the one, that I bid goodbye to, last Thursday evening.
I managed to watch a couple of great Tamil movies in January. Arohanam, Ammavin Kaipesi and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (NKPK). The first and the third were plain awesome. I had a whale of a time, laughing over NKPK. One of the best comedies in recent times.
The year of the snake is about to usher itself. My neighbourhood is abuzz with the sound of crackers. The Chinese version of the Indian Deepavali. The Indian Deepavali, I emphasize. The Malaysian one, is centered more on inviting and visiting friends and family.
Signing off with this beautiful number. Soothing the ears and calming the soul, it is.
Have a great day - wherever you are, and yes, God Bless !!
