~ I have looked into your eyes with my eyes. I have put my heart near your heart. ~ Pope John XXIII
What more do I need to say ?? Our eyes speak a thousand words. And, our hearts echo them, in millions.
The lyrics of this song are just becoming of me. So, comme il faut, in my present situation. I do not intend to write more. Do not want to spill the beans. Let this just, be incognito.
What-ta song... That is exactly what I thought when I heard it this morning. SPB-Ji just tugs and toils your heart, in this one. And, intense lyrics - that just blow your mind away. Call me an ancient radio that keeps replaying oldies, I care, not. But I am adamant. Only Tamil language is able to convey feelings in such detail. The read in between the lines are so downright romantic. If you have come to this page, I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I did. It is such a gem.
It has been more than 10 days since my last post. I wanted to, some time back last week - especially with those lovey dovey things that happening in my life. Sadly, been a little tired and worn out than ever. Thanks to the festive season and my year end laziness. I just realized that it is so much easier to blame it on everything else but ourselves. Minus the hassle of trying to sort things out. I just did that. Forgive me, but why worry, this is the time to be jolly, and usher in a new year. A new resolution. A new beginning.
I promise, to write this weekend. Lots. Lots. I need to shout to the world about all my beautiful nothings. The stolen smiles, the gazes, the read in between the lines, the IR-KJY orchestra combo that keeps playing background music during those precious moments.
In fact, I am playing with the idea of a new blog, come 2011. Musings of yours truly. But, keeping up one blog is tiring enough. Imagine trying to juggle another.
I love this song. I think James Vasanthan did a wonderful job, keeping it simple but memorable. And such, heartwarming lyrics. Love does need to be elaborate and grand. Plain but pure, is more of what it actually is.
Not to late to say this - but Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year everyone. May God bless us all.
"Conversation should be pleasant without scurrility, witty without affectation, free without indecency, learned without conceitedness, novel without falsehood” - William Shakespeare -
I share that with you. Short, beautiful, happy, joyous conversations. Never mind that they do not last long. They leave a mark, deep and extending, and fathomless. There replay on mind, when there is too much of time on my hand. Novel without falsehood. I like that the most, because, that is exactly what they are. Our conversations. We are ourselves. What more can I ask for. I still remember November 16th 2010. It is etched deep in my heart. There were nine altogether. Nine sweet conversations. In a day. Just reminiscing over it today, makes me ecstatic. Like I am flying on cloud nine. What is this feeling ? I have suddenly become intrigued by everything around me. From 2:06, this video clip is a like my favourite song. I want to listen to it again and again. Apuraam, meaning "what then?" in Tamil, has become a landmark in our conversations. We have said that word so many times, and laughed over it. I am posting the video first, and the song second. Enjoy both, as I did.
I am smiling. Once again. This song is mind blowing. And, the movie, should be applauded, as well. A good watch, on a rainy day, with a cup of filter coffee and some piping hot potato bajji. I miss India. And, Chennai. On most days, it feels like I have left my soul there. And, I am counting seconds and minutes like some smitten school girl who longs for school to reopen so that she gets to see her knight in shining armour, or rather, a fellow school boy in his uniform. India, is, about another 50 days away. Right now, that 50 days seems like 50 years ahead. என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறாய் ?? I am waiting. With fingers crossed. When love is not madness, it is not love. ~Pedro Calderon de la Barca Barca could not have said it better. Cheers and love, to a wonderful, promising week.
Hush Hush. Silence. Stillness. That is, what's in between us, right now.
But, I still catch a glimpse of him. Cautiously. And, covertly. It is a beautiful feeling. The lyrics of this song, explain, just that.
Marcus Tullius Cicero said that, "Silence is one of the great arts of conversation". I agree. Silence is actually beautiful. Memories of conversations fill your heart, joyously, when silence visits. The anticipation of the next conversation, in this moment of silence, itself, is blissful.
p/s - Warmest Birthday Wishes to my Superstar - Rajini Sir. Despite the big 6, you still rock us all. God bless.
“All human wisdom is summed up in two words - wait and hope” Alexandre Dumas Pere Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while first. Ask questions, then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart. Read this somewhere. Both are on hope. The first one rings a bell. Wait, wait, wait, but hope, hope and hope. They should have added pray, in between. It would have been more optimistic. More devout. More promising. I have total confidence in prayers. They do wonders. They have always worked for me. Still do, and believe, will always. I am choosing this song for today. Was fascinated by a few lines, and the I say, is history. Such a sentimental, melancholy number. This song touches on patience, too. And,the metamorphosis of the heart. And, patience - waiting and hoping that all will end well. Yours truly, is, too. Waiting, hoping and praying.
This is such an awesome number. Beautifully and magically sung by the great PB Srinivas for the film Ramu. Heart rending lyrics by the one and only Kaviarasu Kannadasan with music by genius, MS Viswanathan. This was a movie by AVM Productions, released in 1967.
Present day. 43 years, later. This song still mesmerizes everyone who listens to it. Old songs will always be gems. This will surely appeal and enthrall people from all walks of life. Sad though, that the video song ends abruptly. A wonder of a song.........
Watched this movie about a month ago. Jeeva made a cameo appearance, so how can I not mention the movie. A love comedy. Something like Siva Manasula Sakthi, although not as good, in my perception. But, this particular song rocks. It is a surprise that it did not become a huge hit. How can you not like lyrics like this.....
This song and lyrics are peachy. So very relevant to my situation. Love makes me smile all day long, and I hope it does the same you too.
My vacation to India starts somewhere in late January 2011, and I am all so excited. India is where my soul is. Despite the numerous visits, I cannot seem to get enough of her. She is the most beautiful place in the world. With the warmest of people and the most beautiful of temples. Counting days, and keeping fingers crossed.
Have you ever been at a lost for words despite having lots to say ? Have you ever become all clammed up and tongue tied although your heart wants to talk at the speed of the bullet train ? It is such an intoxicating feeling.
William Shakespeare quoted this, "When I saw you, I fell in love, and you smiled, because you knew...."
How true. How thrilling.
Love songs can make you walk on air. This song is making me do exactly that. It is an old but beautiful number that will never cease to sooth you. If you pay precise attention to its lyrics, you will understand exactly how love, even in silence, is the greatest of feelings.
The turn of events have been simply amazing. Flourishing, by the day. At times, I swear, I am walking on air. I have knots in my stomach. My mind goes haywire. And, I smile, for no apparent reason. And, and, did I mention about my state of constantly reminiscing. Love is beautiful. So beautiful that everything around will too, when you are caught in it. Our conversations are short but with huge momentum. Sweetly significant. Constantly chiming. I have the rain, to thank. For everything. My heart rate is in super duper fasttachycardia mode. Tachycardia means over 100 beats per minute. So, imagine super duper. And, the halo above my head, is shining far brighter than gold. This song is seemly for the state I am in. Desperately seeking. A glimpse. A peek. A glance. An eyeful. And, when I do, it is mission accomplished. That silly smile lasts on my face, throughout the day.
It is drizzling outside, and I can already smell the freshness of earth. Nature is so beautiful. If only we appreciated it more often. The drizzle has since turned into a heavy pour, and I can hear its rhythmic pats on my roof. Nice. I am smiling.
Relationships are an asset, if you know how to take good care of them. They are, long term investments. But, the trail towards achieving a good one is not easy. Lots of compassion is needed. And, a bit of everything else. It's a potpourri.
My stereo is playing Pookal Pookum from Madrasapattinam. Ya. Yet again. I cannot seem to get enough of this song. It is so lovely. So pure. So soothing. And, the song was fitted well in the movie.
It is raining cats and dogs now. Heard over Makkal News that is is raining the same in India. Tamil Nadu, to be precise. It rained while I was in Chidambaram. Heavy, heavy rain. And, I miss India. Miss her so much, if I had wings, I would have flown there, right away. Forget the rain. I would move mountains and wade through oceans to be on my beloved Indian grounds. Approximately two months away, and my heart is leaping to go right now. Already.
Old songs are evergreen. This one is still soothing, despite the years. I thank my Appa for teaching me to appreciate old Tamil songs. They are gems. This one is, too. Listen.
The internet connection has been unstable, the past week, and attempts to leave a line here were futile. Thank God the situation has taken a turn for good today. And, here I am.
The week has been fairly interesting. Musically, it was a whole lot of IR's and KJY's. You know... those romantic numbers back from the 80's. I cannot pinpoint one single song, but there were many. The ones that switch on the lights of your heart, at the very moment you listen to them.
Sollamale Yaar Paarthathu is what I am listening to right now. It's kind of sappy. Sickly sweet. You have got to feel the song. Grab the moment. Tamil is extremely beautiful. It explains feelings and reveals agitations of the heart in depth.
I am bewildered by the sentiments that a beautiful Tamil love song can put in your heart. Really. I am not blowing this out of proportion, but good Tamil songs DO actually put you up on a pedestal. Like this one.
Again, listened to this by chance, on my local radio. So apt, it was at the moment, that even the heavy rain and the massive jam did not dampen my spirits. This song brought me up the my heart's Himalayas despite the awful situation I was stuck in.
Tried looking for the YouTube version. And failed. This is the duet version. The one I heard was the female one. Both are equally awesome.
No video to accompany, but this site comes with Bharathiyar's logo. Long live Tamil.
p/s - I so miss India. I so, so miss Chennai.
Today was a blast. I am staggered and plain stunned. Surprised to levels that I would never be able to explain, even in complex, elaborate words. But, nevertheless, happy. Very happy. The soul feels light and spirited. It is such an out-of-the-world feeling. I feel like everything around me is illuminating.
This is what I have been hearing since late evening. This came in the early 1990's. Illayaraja for Saami Potta Mudichi. What a beautiful number. It is raining, right here, right now, and with this song in the background, everything feels like a beautiful dream. Only that what all transpired today was not a dream, but factual. It is a continuation of Nov 4th 2011.
Cheers. Have a bright day !!
p/s - cannot find the YouTube version for this song. This is all I could get hold of.
This is one brilliant Tamil movie that, as usual, did not appeal, to the mass. I watched it back then, a few weeks into its release, and again, yesterday, during Deepavali. The first half of the movie has beautiful love scenes. The ones where only eyes speak and hearts go a flutter. Art direction was equally wonderful.
I love the soft melody of the song. And, the awesome lyrics. Listen. You will get what I mean.
I believe that God is listening to each and every prayers of ours. One of mine, just materialized on 4th November, and I cannot help but be grateful to Him. Very, very grateful. And, not to mention, the amount of happiness and prosperity He bestowed on me on Deepavali day, too. Thank you God, for everything.
Happy Deepavali everyone !!! May the Light shine upon each and every one of us. God bless.
I am rhapsodic. In a feeling, of being in between cloud nine and seventh heaven. Get the picture ?? And, right now, I am listening to Enathu Uyire from Bheema. That song is just overwhelming
Did I brag and trumpet about 29th September 7:10pm ??? Because, that is when it all started. And, now, today, 27th October 2010. 10.27pm. It was plain, beautiful. No frills. No flounce. Just a few minutes of unfeigned conversation. It felt warm and earnest. And, that lovely feeling is still very much present.
I still swear that he has a pair of enchanting eyes. They speak a thousand words. I do not need him to say anything. I just read them. As he does mine. Today, his eyes seemed sad. Just felt they were. Unlike other days, when they shine, and twinkle, and smile - at me. I do not know. I asked him. He denied, he was. Sad. He changed the topic. And, charmed me with his sense of humour, instead. I - ended up laughing.
I am still listening to Enathu Uyire from Bheema. My heart feels mushy. My eyes are moist and teary. I do not know if it is the lyrics and the soft, romantic melody of the song or the constant thoughts of him. I just know that he lives right there in my heart.
If my heart was a blend of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean, he would be my 133 feet Thiruvaluvar statue.
Kannan Varum Velai from Deepavali. Befitting.
I am smiling. Smile with me, and enjoy the song. Cheers !!!
Apt for the day. That is what this song is all about.
Mr Bell's creation has come a long, long way. The entire population is thankful to him. Gone are the days, when they were big and bulky, and stationary. Now, it is so slim and sleek, that hiding it in between your pillow and a good cotton blanket, and spending the whole night, talking on the phone, exchanging sweet nothings, is as easy as ABC. If you have been bitten by the bug, you will understand EXACTLY what I mean. Just like this song I am posting. I found it so apt, so romantic, so downright honest, and just what new courting couples do. The weird thing, however, is, when you wake up in the morning, with a silly smile and the reminiscence of the night before, you wonder what you actually talked about, for so long. Right ??
Have a great day. Tell the Almighty about your heart's callings, and He shall answer them. God is watching, and listening.
I looked for the actual clip from the movie, but had a hard time finding one. So, what I am posting today, is more of a praise to Lord Krishna.
I love the fact that this song is so plain - romantic. And, mellifluous. With an obvious feel of longing and anguish . Lyrics are simply amazing. Flawless Tamil.
